Python Application Engineer
We're looking for a great Python developer, who likes to build scalable, realtime web apps for happy users and isn't afraid of growth. We want you to come in and own the Python side of Fancy Hands. We're looking for the type of person who comes in as a developer (like the rest of us) and ends up as the CTO.
Things you'll do
- Design and develop internal and external APIs
- Push code multiple times a day (you can press the button)
- Help establish a great engineering culture
- Help change the way people get things done every day
About you
- 2+ years using Python in a real setting
- Love mongodb (as much as you can)
- memcache experience
- A love of nginx
- You love designing APIs for multiple types of consumers
- Experience integrating 3rd party APIs
- Live in or around New York City and can make it into the office in Manhattan
- Ability to work well with others
- Ability to work well on your own
A big plus if you have...
- experience with Tornado
- experience with AWS, linode, or other cloud service providers
- experience using Google App Engine
- experience with beanstalkd (or similar)
- familiar with the server side issues of long polling, web sockets, etc
- JavaScript experience (jQuery, node, whatever).
- hadoop experience (or similar map/reduce stack)
- natural language processing experience
- git and github experience
