Python Application Engineer

We're looking for a great Python developer with a passion for building scalable, realtime web apps for happy users. We want you to claim ownership of the Python side of Fancy Hands. We're looking for someone who can naturally grow with our company; who starts as a developer (like the rest of us) and becomes our CTO.

Things you'll do:

• Design and develop internal and external APIs
• Push code multiple times a day (you can press the button)
• Help establish a great engineering culture
• Help master the way people get things done every day

About you:

• 2+ years using Python in a real setting
• Experience using Google App Engine
• Experience with Django templates
• Love of using task queues (beanstalk? rabbitmq? whatever)
• Memcache experience
• You love designing APIs for multiple types of consumers
• Experience integrating 3rd party APIs
• Live in or near NYC (job is in our Soho office)
• You work & play well with others
• You work well on your own

Bonus points if you have:

• MapReduce experience
• Git and github experience
• Experience with AWS, linode, or other cloud service providers
• JavaScript experience (jQuery, node, whatever)
• Natural language processing experience
